Today, we venture into the desert, heading to the renowned Palm Springs, a haven for the rich and famous. Our journey begins by leaving San Diego behind as we pass through Ramona. Along the way, we make a delightful pit stop in Santa Ysabel, known for its delectable homemade pies. Prepare for a mouthwatering treat, but exercise restraint as you won’t want to overindulge. You might even consider getting some extra pies to savor throughout the rest of our tour.
Continuing our route, we traverse the captivating Pines to Palms Highway, offering breathtaking vistas that beckon your cameras to capture the scenery. Our day concludes in the vibrant city of Palm Springs, where we will enjoy an exciting evening together.
Our journey continues northwards towards Kingman, where we embrace the allure of Historic Route 66, famously known as “The Mother Road.” Following the footsteps of countless travelers before us, we set forth on Route 66 heading westward. This leg of the trip offers a remarkable drive to the charming town of Oatman, a historic miner’s village established by two gold prospectors in 1915.
The route to Oatman boasts narrow, winding roads at varying elevations, surrounded by captivating mountain and desert landscapes, making it a prime location for capturing memorable footage. When you arrive in Oatman, be sure to secure your bikes and keep an eye out for donkeys and the occasional “outlaw” roaming the streets.
We continue our adventure along Route 66 before making our way to Laughlin, where the excitement of casinos and entertainment awaits.
Prepare for a day of desert driving and the rising temperatures. Our journey takes us through the captivating “Mojave National Preserve,” renowned for its enchanting singing sand dunes, cinder cone volcanoes, expansive Joshua tree forests, and vibrant carpets of spring wildflowers. As we press onward, we head towards the historic Calico Ghost Town, a fascinating glimpse into the past.
A delightful lunch awaits us in Barstow, providing a chance to refuel before continuing our adventure. Our final destination for the day is the picturesque vacation haven of Big Bear Lake. Here, we will spend our last memorable evening together on this incredible road trip.
Our journey concludes with a grand finale that promises to be nothing short of extraordinary. Today, you will have the privilege of experiencing the enchanting roads and awe-inspiring vistas along one of the United States’ finest motorcycle routes, the renowned Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2). This ride will be an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience, etching itself into the annals of your riding history.
We will take our time, making several stops along Angeles Crest Highway to fully savor the breathtaking scenery before we make our way toward Los Angeles. Upon returning our bikes and checking in at the hotel, we will head to the iconic Santa Monica Pier, marking the terminus of Historic Route 66, where we will celebrate with a memorable farewell party.
