This Self-Drive tour is an “Adventure Tour,” spanning one of our longest rides across the North American continent, coast to coast. Covering approximately 3,800 miles, you’ll traverse nine U.S. states and three time zones.

Prepare for an immersive journey into the heart of “Real America” and its vast grandeur. This tour is brimming with handpicked experiences, ranging from bustling big cities to serene coastal retreats, arid deserts to towering mountains, expansive prairies to exhilarating motorcycle routes, and scenic back roads.

Highlights of the itinerary include visits to Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, San Diego, Tombstone, Pecos (Rodeo), El Paso, San Antonio, New Orleans, the Gulf of Mexico, USS Alabama, Cape San Blas, Tallahassee, Daytona “Biker” Beach, Miami, encounters with alligators in the Everglades and culminating in Orlando.

After months of anticipation, the moment has finally arrived: Welcome to Los Angeles! Your adventure starts here, in a place known for its sunshine, creativity, and endless energy. Embrace the start of this new chapter, and let Los Angeles be the perfect kickoff to your much-awaited journey.

Day 2: Los Angeles - San Diego

(Driving day 1: 212 km/132 miles)

As you prepare to embark on your journey, the bustling city of LA fades into the distance behind you. Heading south, you’re in for a unique adventure brimming with history, excitement, and fun! Your first day on the road offers a mix of city streets, highways, and a scenic drive along the legendary Pacific Coast Highway 1 en route to vibrant San Diego.

Take it slow as you acclimate to California’s driving conditions and temperatures. Prepare your taste buds for a delightful lunch at Ruby’s Diner in Laguna Beach, where classic milkshakes are highly recommended! With satisfied appetites, continue your journey straight to San Diego. Upon arrival, head to Historic Old Town where you’ll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to explore everything this lively city has to offer, from the USS Midway and Maritime Museum to the charming neighborhoods of Little Italy and Old Town.

Day 3: San Diego - Yuma

Get ready for an exhilarating day of riding! You kick off the morning with an unforgettable journey along the famous Old Highway 80 and Historic Highway 94, where you’ll encounter thrilling curves and breathtaking scenery at every turn. As you ride, keep an eye out for the stunning landscapes that unfold before you.

Continuing your adventure, you’ll trace along the Mexican border, witnessing firsthand the extensive measures taken by the US to safeguard its boundaries. Be prepared to pass through a checkpoint along the way. Your next stop is the Desert View Tower, offering awe-inspiring vistas of the surrounding valley that are not to be missed.

For lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to dine in Calexico, situated close to the Mexican border. The latter part of the day promises even more excitement as you traverse the Imperial Sand Dunes, immersing yourself in the surreal experience of navigating through a genuine sand desert—a truly rare and unforgettable adventure.

Your journey concludes in Yuma, where you’ll spend the evening exploring the charming historic district and soaking in the local ambiance.

Day 4: Yuma - Tucson

Today you’ll set your sights on Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore its unique landscapes and marvel at the majestic cacti. Following your visit, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch near the Space Age Lodge in Gila Bend, where you can recharge before continuing your journey.

As you make your way to Tucson, be sure to indulge in some cowboy shopping at Boot Barn in downtown Tucson. Explore the selection of authentic Western wear and accessories, adding a touch of frontier flair to your adventure.

Day 5: Tucson - tombstone

Welcome to another exhilarating day of riding along breathtaking motorcycle roads. Your journey begins with an ascent to the summit of Mt. Lemmon, towering at 2,792 meters. The ride offers unparalleled vistas, guaranteed to keep a smile on your face all the way to the mountain’s peak. Take a moment to savor a refreshing drink and soak in the panoramic views before continuing your adventure.

Next, you’ll traverse through the Coronado National Forest, immersing yourself in the rugged landscapes of the old Wild West. Your route leads you to the iconic western town of Tombstone, renowned for its storied past. Here, you’ll visit historic landmarks such as the O.K. Corral, where the infamous gunfight between the Earp brothers and the Clantons took place. Explore Boot Hill Cemetery and cap off your visit with a stop at the renowned Big Nose Saloon, steeped in frontier charm and history.

Day 6: Tombstone - El Paso

You continue your journey through the old Wild West, making a stop at the famous western town of Bisbee. Immerse yourself in the rich history and charm of this iconic destination before moving on to the Geronimo surrender monument. Located near the site where Geronimo surrendered, this monument marks the end of Indian warfare in the United States, offering a poignant glimpse into the region’s past.

Next, you’ll venture to Columbus, known for its historical significance as the site of the Pancho Villa raid and his death mask. Following this, you’ll ride along the Mexican border to El Paso, where you’ll experience the breathtaking Scenic Drive. Pause at the mountain viewpoint, which offers a stunning panorama spanning two states: Texas and Mexico.

Day 7: El Paso - Alpine

ou begin the day’s journey by heading to the Salt Flats, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Salt Flat Café and perhaps enjoy some local cuisine. From there, your route takes you through Davis Mountains State Park, offering breathtaking vistas and scenic landscapes.

As you continue your ride, you’ll have the chance to experience a spectacular journey by Mount Livermore before reaching Fort Davis. This historic destination provides insight into the region’s past and offers a glimpse into the area’s rich heritage. Finally, you’ll make your way to Alpine, where you can further explore the charms of this captivating region.

Day 8: Big Bend National Park

(Driving day 7: 442 km/277 miles)

You’ll have the opportunity to ride through the entire park, stopping at various viewpoints along the way to capture the stunning scenery, so be sure to have your camera ready. However, please keep in mind that it will be a very hot day, so dress accordingly and stay hydrated. If you find that you need a break from riding and prefer a more relaxing day, you can opt to spend your time in Alpine City instead. Alpine is renowned for its scenic beauty, captivating geology, rich history, cultural heritage, and the hospitality of its residents. It’s a welcoming destination where you can unwind and soak in the charm of the surroundings. Whether you choose to explore Big Bend National Park or enjoy a leisurely day in Alpine, you’re sure to have a memorable experience.

Day 9: Alpine - Del Rio

(Driving day 8: 334 km/208 miles)

It’s another day of riding through the wild west as you journey across Texas. Your adventure begins with a visit to the saloon of the legendary Judge Roy Bean, famously known as “the law west of Pecos.” From there, you’ll continue your journey to the stunning Seminole Canyon, renowned for its wealth of archaeological artifacts. After exploring the canyon, you’ll head straight to Del Rio, where you’ll have the opportunity to indulge in wine tasting at the local Val Verde Winery.

Day 10: Del Rio - San Antonio

(Driving day 9: 508 km/318 miles)

Welcome to one of the most exhilarating riding days of your life! Get ready for a truly unforgettable experience as you tackle the legendary Three Sisters (RR335, 336, and 337). Widely regarded as one of the best motorcycle roads in the USA, it’s sure to delight any biker’s heart.

Setting out from Camp Wood, you’ll embark on the renowned Three Sisters route, making several stops along the way to soak in the breathtaking scenery. Keep in mind that you’ll be sharing the road with other bikers eager to experience these fantastic US motorcycle roads, so stay alert.

After immersing yourself in the thrill of the Three Sisters and perhaps picking up a patch or t-shirt to commemorate the ride, you’ll head to Leakey for lunch at a popular biker bar. From there, your journey continues to the Lone Star Museum (if open) in Vanderpool, where you can marvel at a rare collection of antique veteran motorcycles on display.

Finally, you’ll ride into San Antonio, where you can unwind and enjoy the evening on the captivating and charming River Walk, a perfect way to end an incredible day of riding.

Day 11: San Antonio - Galveston

Today marks your departure from the inland as you journey towards the stunning coastal shores of the United States. Your route takes you to Surfside Beach, where you’ll ride along the scenic coastal beaches, enjoying the fresh sea breeze and breathtaking views.

Eventually, you’ll arrive at the vibrant coastal vacation destination of Galveston. Here, you can immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of this charming city, known for its beautiful beaches, historic architecture, and bustling waterfront attractions. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the coastal vibes after your inland adventures.

Day 12: Galveston - New Iberia

You continue your scenic drive along the beautiful coast and shores, taking in the stunning views along the way. Your journey includes a memorable experience as you embark on a local ferry, adding a touch of adventure to your trip.

After the ferry ride, you’ll ride through the spectacular landscapes of Gilchrist and Pecan Island, enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Then, you’ll head inland once again, making your way towards New Iberia, where new adventures await.

Day 13: New Iberia - New Orléans

Today is Swamp Day, dedicated to experiencing the wonders of the Louisiana swamps up close. You’ll head south to the swamps for a thrilling boat tour led by a Cajun guide, who will feed wild alligators right in front of you. Get ready for an exhilarating and unforgettable experience!

After the swamp tour, you’ll continue your journey along the beautiful coast, soaking in the scenic views as you make your way to the legendary city of New Orleans. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel in the vibrant French Quarter.
