Day 1: Arrival Santiago, Chile

Welcome to Santiago!

Once all tour participants have arrived, we convene for a warm welcome and refreshments, accompanied by introductions. The evening’s agenda revolves around fostering camaraderie as we dine together in authentic Latin-American fashion. For those still brimming with energy after the journey, an option to unwind at a nearby local bar awaits.

Day 2: Santiago

(Explorer & fun day)

We kick off the day with an informative meeting, where we provide details about your upcoming adventure on the Best of Andes 3 Paso tour and your stay in Santiago. Practical information regarding motorcycle and car rental checkout, as well as safety guidelines and tour information, will also be covered to ensure everyone is well-prepared for the journey ahead.

Following the meeting, the remainder of the day is yours to explore downtown Santiago at your leisure. We suggest visiting Cerro San Cristobal, an 860-meter hill in the heart of Santiago offering attractions such as a zoo, wine museum, and a gondola ride to the summit where a statue of the Virgin Mary overlooks the city. Additionally, don’t miss the opportunity to visit SkyCostanera, the highest viewing platform in Santiago located atop the tallest building in Latin America, offering breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the city from a height of 300 meters.

In the evening, we gather to check out our motorcycles or vehicles before enjoying a delightful dinner together.

Day 3: Santiago - Mendoza, Argentina

(Driving day 1: 338 km/240 miles)

Our Latin American driving adventure begins! Once everyone is prepared, we set off on our remarkable tour. Our journey begins with a northward drive towards one of the tour’s standout highlights: crossing the Argentina border via Cristo Redentor, situated at a breathtaking elevation of 3,832 meters (10,499 feet) above sea level. The roads ahead promise an exhilarating motorcycle ride, offering perfect conditions that you’re sure to relish. Please note that the optional stretch across the actual mountain pass involves traversing a gravel road.

We pause for a refreshing lunch break in Las Cuevas before continuing our route to Puenta del Inca, an ancient Inka (Indian) village. Along the way to Mendoza, we make a memorable stop to admire and capture photographs of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Andes towering at 6,962 meters above sea level. Our final destination for the day is Mendoza, where we’ll enjoy a lively evening together. Mendoza exudes a charming, laid-back ambiance, boasting numerous cozy cafes and enticing shopping opportunities. Be sure to visit the fountain in the city center for a memorable experience.

Day 4: Mendoza, Argentina

Make the most of your day in Mendoza by indulging in activities tailored to your preferences. We highly recommend “The Vineyard Experience,” offering a fascinating insight into one of the world’s most renowned and prestigious wineries. This program includes a comprehensive winery tour, a delectable restaurant brunch featuring a regional menu, and an unforgettable wine-tasting session, among other highlights.

Alternatively, you may opt to unwind and relax at the hotel, savoring moments of tranquility amidst the serene surroundings. For those seeking a bit of exploration and excitement, Mendoza offers ample opportunities for shopping and discovering local gems.

Day 5: Mendoza - Rodeo

(Driving day 2: 363 km/225 miles)

As we bid farewell to the enchanting city of Mendoza and its exquisite wine country, we embark on our journey back to the majestic Andes mountains. Our route takes us northward along Ruta 40 / 149, where we make a picturesque stop at the stunning La Cuesta del Viento. Here, amidst breathtaking scenery, we pause to soak in the natural beauty surrounding us.

After our refreshing stop, we continue our drive until we reach Rodeo, where we’ll indulge in a delightful dinner. Rodeo offers a charming atmosphere and delicious cuisine, providing the perfect setting for us to unwind and relish in the day’s adventures amidst the captivating backdrop of the Andes mountains.

Day 6: Rodeo - La Serena, Chile

(Driving day 3: 373 km/232 miles)

Welcome to another highlight of our tour! Today, we bid farewell to Rodeo and Argentina as we embark on an unforgettable journey back to Chile. This leg of our drive promises to be one of the most awe-inspiring rides of your life. We’ll travel along Ruta 150 towards the breathtaking Paso Agua Negra, standing tall at an impressive 4,781 meters (15,682 feet) above sea level. Crossing the Chilean border, we’ll continue our drive along Ruta 41, where you’ll be mesmerized by the magnificent vistas unfolding before you. Keep your cameras handy and prepare yourself for memories that will last a lifetime.

En route to La Serena, we’ll make a stop at the picturesque town of Pisco Elqui, known for its historical significance in the distillation of pisco during the early years of Chilean history. Originally named La Greda, this charming town is sure to captivate you with its beauty and charm. Our final destination for the day is La Serena, where we’ll be greeted by beautiful beach shores and quaint coastal villages.

Day 7: La Serena - Vina del Mar

(Driving day 6: 515 km/321 miles)

Welcome to a breathtaking day of riding along the stunning Chilean coastline. Our journey southward towards Vina del Mar treats us to picturesque beach shores and charming coastal villages, where you may catch glimpses of pelicans and sea lions basking in the sun.

Our first destination is Fray Jorge National Park, recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for its unique ecosystem. Continuing our ride south, we make a couple of enjoyable pit stops in the cozy towns of Papudo and Zapallar, each offering their own distinct charm and attractions.

We conclude our day with our final evening and a farewell dinner in lively Vina del Mar, often referred to as Chile’s version of St. Tropez. Here, amidst the vibrant atmosphere and stunning coastal scenery, we bid farewell to our memorable journey together.

Day 8: Vina del Mar - Santiago - Home Trave

(Driving day 7: 515 km/321 miles)

As our thrilling adventure tour through breathtaking Argentina, Chile, and the Andes mountains draws to a close, we find ourselves on our final driving day. We make our way back to Santiago, where we bid farewell to our vehicles and head to the airport.
