Experience the blend of cityscape and natural beauty on an unforgettable journey – ride Sunset Strip to Pacific Coast Highway.

“I left my soul on the Pacific Coast Highway. Gonna let the stars be my guide. Had to leave my worries all behind” – The Hip Abduction

There are few more iconic road trips than a ride through California on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. It has even inspired songs and poems about its beauty. So why not follow in the footsteps of James Dean, Steve McQueen and the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley, who loved to ride their motorcycles from Sunset Boulevard to the famous Highway? The quintessential California ride and a taste of classic Hollywood!

You can start your ride anywhere on Sunset Boulevard. But I’d recommend throwing yourself into old Hollywood and starting off on the legendary Sunset Strip. “Get ready for your close-up” as you explore one of the most iconic neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

As you weave your way through the bustling streets on Sunset, with the wind in your face and the roar of the engine in your ears, you’ll be surrounded by neon lights and the sounds of live music pouring out of bars and clubs. The streets are lined with iconic landmarks. So you can ride past the Beverly Hills Hotel, Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, and the Viper Room. All of which have played a pivotal role in Hollywood history.

The start

Start your trip at Highland Avenue and Sunset as it places you right in the heart of the Sunset Strip. From there, you can head west toward Beverly Hills. You’ll pass by some of the most luxurious homes and estates in the city. As well as some of the most exclusive shops and boutiques. The roads are wide and smooth, making for a comfortable ride, and the scenery is simply breathtaking.

Those wide Beverly Hills roads lead past the 405 Freeway, where the road becomes more winding and curvier. The twists and turns take you through lush greenery and towering mountains, with views of the city and the ocean below.

As you leave the hustle and bustle of Sunset Strip behind and venture towards the coast, the scenery transforms, and the Pacific Ocean emerges in your sight. And before you know it, you get to experience that purely magical feeling of reaching the Pacific Coast Highway and getting some of that dreamy ocean breeze.

Riding the coast

As you ride along this scenic route, you’ll be treated to views of the ocean and the coastline, with the taste of the salty sea air on your tongue. All while the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean provide the greatest soundtrack to your ride.

Riding the Highway along the coast to the Santa Monica Pier is a must. The pier has a variety of attractions, including an amusement park with a Ferris wheel, lots of carnival games, and plenty of food and drink. As the sun begins to set, take a ride on the Ferris wheel to catch the stunning sunset from above. The views of the ocean, the city skyline, and the colorful sky make for an experience that will be hard to forget.

This is the ride-of-a-lifetime – surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, riding from Sunset to sunset.
